What this server can do
16 functions, named and described by the server itself. Parameter names are shown because they say more about what a function does than its name usually does.
xmp4_callees(docs, page, project, file_path, page_size, symbol_name, output_format)- Find direct callees (methods called by) a symbol in a project. Navigate step-by-step by calling xmp4_callees again on interesting results. Required: project, symbol_name.
xmp4_callers(docs, page, project, file_path, page_size, symbol_name, output_format)- Find direct callers of a symbol in a project. Navigate step-by-step by calling xmp4_callers again on interesting results. Required: project, symbol_name.
xmp4_deps(page, project, page_size, output_format)- List external dependencies of a project. Required: project.
xmp4_grep(page, pattern, project, file_glob, file_path, page_size, max_results, case_sensitive)- Server-side regex text search over indexed project source files. Free tier: requires file_path (single file). Premium tier (XMP4_PREMIUM_GREP_WALK=true): allows file_glob multi-file walk. Prefer xmp4_tests_for/xmp4_usages for SCIP symbols — grep is for text not indexed (comments, literals, config keys). Required: project, pattern.
xmp4_guide- Usage guide for xmp4 tools — read this first to learn the correct workflow
xmp4_hierarchy(docs, page, project, file_path, page_size, symbol_name, output_format)- Get type hierarchy (base, interfaces, derived) for a symbol in a project. Required: project, symbol_name.
xmp4_info(docs, page, project, file_path, page_size, symbol_name, output_format)- Get detailed information about a symbol in a project. Required: project, symbol_name.
xmp4_outline(page, project, file_path, page_size, output_format)- Get outline (all symbols) for a file in a project. Required: project, file_path.
xmp4_projects(page, repo, query, language, page_size)- Search and browse projects by language and name. Use this first to discover projects, then use other tools with the repo name.
xmp4_search(kind, page, query, project, page_size, max_results, output_format)- Search symbols in a project. Use xmp4_projects first to find the project identifier. Required: project, query.
xmp4_server- Get server information, version, and capabilities
xmp4_source(docs, page, project, file_path, page_size, symbol_name, output_format)- Extract source code for a symbol in a project. Required: project, symbol_name.
xmp4_symbol_at(line, column, project, file_path)- LSP-style position→symbol lookup. Given (file_path, line, column) returns the symbol whose occurrence covers that cursor position. line is 1-based; column is 0-based. Use after xmp4_outline/xmp4_view when you know coordinates and want the canonical symbol. Required: project, file_path.
xmp4_tests_for(docs, page, project, file_path, page_size, symbol_name, output_format)- Find direct tests that exercise a given symbol (direct callers filtered to test-file candidates per language pattern: CSharp/Java/PHP: *Test(s).<ext>; Python: test_*.py / *_test.py; TypeScript/JavaScript: *.spec/test.{ts,js}; Rust: *_tests.rs / tests/; etc.). Required: project, symbol_name.
xmp4_usages(docs, page, project, file_path, page_size, symbol_name, output_format)- Find all usages/references of a symbol in a project. Required: project, symbol_name.
xmp4_view(project, to_line, file_path, from_line)- Read a raw file excerpt from an indexed project by line range. Use after xmp4_search/xmp4_outline locates the region of interest, or to expand a truncated xmp4_source snippet. Hard cap of 500 lines per call. Required: project, file_path.

Signals
These are separate measurements of different things. They are deliberately not combined into one score, because a popularity number that mixes website traffic with saves and stars cannot be checked or acted on.
| Signal | Value | What it measures | Window | Observed | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GitHub stars | 0 | Number of GitHub accounts that bookmarked this repository since it was created. It is a bookmark count, not installs, not active users and not quality. | cumulative, all time | GitHub | |
| Last commit | 2026-07-22 | Date of the most recent push to any branch. This is the strongest cheap indicator of whether the project is still maintained. | point in time | GitHub | |
| Open issues | 2 | Open issues plus open pull requests, as GitHub counts them together. A high number can mean an active project or an abandoned one. | as of fetch | GitHub | |
| Latest published version | 1.2.6 | Latest version string the maintainer published to the registry. | as of fetch | Model Context Protocol | |
| Registry record last updated | 2026-04-23 | When the registry record was last updated by its maintainer. | point in time | Model Context Protocol | |
| License | Apache-2.0 | Licence GitHub detected in the repository. Detection can be wrong; the LICENSE file is authoritative. | as of fetch | GitHub | |
| First listed in the MCP Registry | 2026-04-23 | Date this server was first published to the official MCP Registry. Not a usage or quality measure. | point in time | Model Context Protocol | |
| repository status | active | The repository exists on GitHub and is not archived. This says nothing about how recently it was worked on. | as of fetch | GitHub | |
| mcp tools declared | 16 tools | Number of functions the server itself declared when asked to list them. This is what the server offers an agent, not a measure of how well any of them work. | as of probe | mcp.example4.ai | |
| mcp endpoint status | ok | The server listed 16 functions when asked. | as of probe | mcp.example4.ai |
