What this server can do

8 functions, named and described by the server itself. Parameter names are shown because they say more about what a function does than its name usually does.

estimate_contractor_tax(revenue, expenses, province)
Estimate 2026 income tax, CPP, and take-home for a self-employed Canadian contractor or tradesperson (sole proprietor) by province. Uses sourced CRA and provincial rates from tradestaxcalculator.ca. Provinces: ontario, alberta, bc, saskatchewan, manitoba, new-brunswick, nova-scotia, pei, newfoundland, yukon, nwt, nunavut (no Quebec). Planning estimate, not tax advice. Required: province, revenue.
get_form(id)
Get full details for one form by its id (from search_forms): description, regulatory citation, the exact fields it collects, and free print / Pass options. Required: id.
get_form_maker_pass
Pricing and checkout links for the Blue Crane Form Maker Pass: one-time purchase that strips all Blue Crane text from printed PDFs (clean, client-ready paper) and auto-fills saved company details across all 126 forms.
hst_quick_method(type, revenue, operating_itcs)
Compare the CRA Quick Method of accounting for HST against the regular method for an Ontario contractor: what they would remit and keep under each, with the break-even. Planning estimate. Required: revenue.
list_categories
List the form categories (WSIB & incidents, site safety, vehicles & equipment, finance, subcontractors, etc.) with what each covers and how many forms it holds.
required_hourly_rate(province, weeks_per_year, overhead_annual, target_take_home, billable_hours_per_week)
Work backwards from the annual take-home a contractor wants to the hourly rate they must bill, accounting for 2026 income tax and CPP in their province plus billable time. Planning estimate. Required: province, target_take_home.
search_forms(limit, query)
Search Blue Crane's compendium of 126 Canadian contractor forms — Ontario, Alberta and BC statutory worksheets plus Canada-wide site paperwork (safety, statutory worksheets, inspections, invoices, sign-offs, site logs) by keyword, form number, or alias (e.g. 'FLHA', 'form 1.2', 'hot work', 'toolbox talk'). Returns matching forms with citations and free fill-and-print URLs. Required: query.
which_form_do_i_need(situation)
Describe a jobsite or paperwork situation in plain language (e.g. 'starting an $80k renovation in Ontario', 'GC is not paying my invoice', 'crew doing welding tomorrow') and get the forms that fit, with citations and free print links. Guidance only — not legal advice. Required: situation.

Signals

These are separate measurements of different things. They are deliberately not combined into one score, because a popularity number that mixes website traffic with saves and stars cannot be checked or acted on.

Signal Value What it measures Window Observed Source
GitHub stars 0 Number of GitHub accounts that bookmarked this repository since it was created. It is a bookmark count, not installs, not active users and not quality. cumulative, all time GitHub
Last commit 2026-08-04 Date of the most recent push to any branch. This is the strongest cheap indicator of whether the project is still maintained. point in time GitHub
Open issues 0 Open issues plus open pull requests, as GitHub counts them together. A high number can mean an active project or an abandoned one. as of fetch GitHub
Latest published version 1.1.0 Latest version string the maintainer published to the registry. as of fetch Model Context Protocol
Registry record last updated 2026-08-04 When the registry record was last updated by its maintainer. point in time Model Context Protocol
First listed in the MCP Registry 2026-08-04 Date this server was first published to the official MCP Registry. Not a usage or quality measure. point in time Model Context Protocol
repository status active The repository exists on GitHub and is not archived. This says nothing about how recently it was worked on. as of fetch GitHub
mcp tools declared 8 tools Number of functions the server itself declared when asked to list them. This is what the server offers an agent, not a measure of how well any of them work. as of probe mcp.bluecraneworks.ca
mcp endpoint status ok The server listed 8 functions when asked. as of probe mcp.bluecraneworks.ca

Where to get it

Related, by what their authors tagged them

These share tags the maintainers applied themselves, such as canada, construction. Common tags like "mcp" or "ai" are ignored for this: agreeing with six hundred other projects is not a similarity.

This is not a recommendation and not a test result. It is a map of what the authors said their work is about.

How the author describes it
